Federal State Budgetary Institute “The Nikiforov Russian Center of Emergency and Radiation Medicine” EMERCOM of Russia organized and carried outThe III Russian-Israel Symposium “Innovative Technologies in Medicine. Polytrauma and Emergency Surgery” (May 25th-27th 2016) and the V International Research and Practice Congress “Multi-Field Clinic of the XXI Century. Advanced Medical Technology” (May 26th-28th 2016) in the year of Center’s 25th anniversary. Plenary sessions and scientific sections were characterized with friendly working atmosphere and raised, among others, the following relevant issues of the modern world:
· Rendering medical aid in emergency situations;
· Health effects after Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant Accident (30-year experience in monitoring exposed people);
· Modern aspects of diagnostics and surgery of medical emergencies and traumas;
· Innovations in traumatology and orthopedics in metropolis;
· Modern medical technology in burn injury medicine;
· Health system economy.
In the framework of the Congress there was an exhibition of modern medical equipment and medications; practical trainings and lectures were held; there took place demo exercises “Medical Evacuation of Severely Injured to the Multi-Field Clinic of EMERCOM of Russia using air ambulance vehicle”, demonstration of a simulation center.
Over 500 leading Russian specialists and researchers took part in the events as well as experts from the Republic of Belarus, Germany, Israel, Italy, Finland, Sweden and other foreign countries.
The World Society of Emergency Surgery (WSES) headed by its president L. Ansaloni came for the first time to Russia to take part in the work of the III Russian-Israel Symposium “Innovative Technologies in Medicine. Polytrauma and Emergency Surgery”. NRCERM and WSES have signed a preliminary agreement on intentions for further cooperation. At present they are discussing the possibility of designation of NRCERM as a regional WSES representative in Russia.
